The Dix Hills Jewish Center is celebrating its 50th Anniversary with a big weekend of activities.
On Saturday night, April 28, we will be hosting a special event for the families that founded and belonged to the temple in the 'early years'. Bring your parents, bring your siblings & bring your kids to celebrate, reminisce and reconnect.
Our parents created & joined the temple to have a place where their children could learn the joys of Judaism. This is our chance to 'give back' and share the memories of the early days.
Remember the little house on Deer Park Avenue? Rachel Segal teaching us to bake challah? Purim Carnivals & Sunday school classes? High holiday services at St. Matthews before we had our own building? Winter weekends in the Catskills? Then you are part of the DHJC family and this is perhaps our only chance to come together to remember & celebrate.
We will be compiling a 'Movie of Memories' to be shown that night, supporting a 'History of the DHJC' Wall to memorialize the efforts of our founders thru donations & a journal page and creating new memories together.
There will also be a 50th Gala on Sunday, April 29 at 4 pm.
Event details & registration coming soon.
