The Southern Division Living History Association is proud to be working in cooperation with the Broadside Mess on this preservation event!
Averell's Advance is an authentic reenacting event. That means we intend to portray what ACTUALLY happened at Droop Mountain in 1863. The Broadside Mess has spent the past couple of years researching this battle and the soldiers who fought in it so we can see it recreated. In order to do that, we require that all participants meet us halfway. We have prepared a list of authenticity requirements, and we WILL be enforcing them. (Follow this link and also look at the impression guidelines: https://droop.weebly.com/rules.html)
If you aren't sure if you meet these requirements, contact us. We can work with you to help you prepare before November or let you know upfront that it does not meet the event requirements, saving you a wasted trip to the West Virginia mountains for an event you will be turned away from.
