Tibradden – Cruagh – Massy’s Looped Hike & National Spring Clean Event

Description: The Dublin Mountains Partnership is holding a hiking litter pick as part of National Spring Clean 2018. The litter picking route will take the group on a lovely looped walk starting from Tibradden (the Pine Forest) and following the Dublin Mountains Way westwards into Cruagh, then taking the Mountain Access track onto the open hill to see, weather permitting, stunning views over Dublin, the route rejoins the Dublin Mountains Way before heading into Massy’s Estate where it follows the Nature Trail loop, there will be time to look for signs of spring. There will be a break for lunch in Massy’s Estate before returning to Tibradden via Cruagh. Along the route litter that is found will be collected in colour coded plastic bags for recyclable and non-recyclable waste.
Date: Monday 2nd April at 11:00.
Distance: 12km approximately
Duration: 4 hrs.
Degree of difficulty: Moderate.
Bring: Walking boots, raingear, warm clothes, hot drink and a snack.
Litter Picking Materials: the following will be provided: protective tabards for adults and children to keep your clothes clean, colour coded plastic bags for recyclable and non-recyclable waste, gloves to keep your hands safe and clean. Traffic advice: A section of Edmondstown Road (R116) is closed between the Merry Ploughboy and Tibradden Rd (R113) until November 2018 for works, diversions are in place.
