Original in every sense, The Jungle Brothers formed in 1987 in New York and pioneered the fusion of jazz and hip-hop music.

Founding members of The Native Tongues - a collective of hip-hop artists including De La Soul, A Tribe Called Quest and Queen Latifa - they were known for their positive-minded, Afrocentric lyrics and fronted the good-natured 'Conscious' hip-hop movement.

Initiating the use of eclectic sampling and jazz-influenced beats, they worked multiple genres, being the first to fuse house music with hip-hop on the track 'I'll House You'.

The albums 'Straight Out The Jungle' and 'Done By The Forces Of Nature' are genre classics and played a pivotal role in shaping the sounds and attitudes in hip-hop today.

After a prolonged break Mike Gee, Africa Baby Bam and DJ Sammy B have the band back together and are on the road again. Thirty years after they started there's still a huge buzz to The Jungle Brothers live show; spitting intelligent rhymes with relentless energy and a positive philosophy.
