DSCC’s Theatre Department will perform its spring production of Lauren Gunderson’s comedy ‘The Revolutionists’ beginning April 5 through April 7 at 7:30 p.m. nightly inside the First Citizens National Bank Auditorium on the Dyersburg campus.
Gunderson, the most produced playwright in America in 2017, uses the backdrop of the French Revolution’s Reign of Terror, guillotine and all, and creates a comic drama that focuses on bold women of the period fighting for their rights as citizens, while hoping to rewrite history. Characters in the play include Marie Antoinette, the assassin Charlotte Corday, playwright Olympe de Gouges, and a compilation character from the Caribbean called Marianne Angelle.
General admission tickets are available at the door. Groups of 10 or more are encouraged to make reservations. Cost is $5 for students, DSCC faculty/staff and senior citizens. General admission for all others is $6. For more information, contact director Meleia Lewis at 286 -3261.
