Join the Chasing Wild Feathers crew on Lek and Loon Day at East Canyon State Park on Saturday March 31st.
Birders and nature enthusiasts at all levels are welcome to help the CWF crew reach their 50 species count for Morgan County, Utah!
We will caravan from the Wild About Birds Nature Center at 5:00 a.m. sharp and the adventure will end early afternoon at the park. We will meet Chris Heramoto - State Park Manager at 6 am at the East Canyon State Park Entrance for an orientation/education on the grouse.
After viewing the dancing males on the lek, we will then transition back to East Canyon Reservoir and bird-watch around the seed feeders and the reservoir’s waters seeking out Common Loons.
Later in the day at 6:30 pm East Canyon State Park will host a grand Easter Egg hunt for all to take part. Face painting and other activities will be provided – there is an entrance fee for the state park. We look forward to meeting many new faces and counting a few birds!
