Join the East Lancashire Railway and the Bury Unit as we celebrate the launch into service of the 105 Cravens at a special DMU gala!
Following an extensive 21 year restoration, the 105 Cravens will be running its first passenger services and visitors will be able to ride it and even take home a small commemorative ticket. Other exciting attractions will include the first visit of the Wickham built 109 since the completion of its own 10 year restoration, the first runs of 104 and 110 since their paint and body work was finished and the last opportunity to travel the ELR on board 117 before it leaves the railway.
The once common operation of DMU’s hauling a parcel van will be recreated along the line with a locomotive (A class 40) assisting. The event will also play host to The Railcar Association’s annual convention for the first time since 2000.
