Habitat for Humanity is a nonprofit organization that partners with individuals and families residing in Richland and Lexington Counties to build safe, decent, and affordable housing. Through partnering, Habitat for Humanity provides a hand up, not a hand out; this is done through sweat equity and other partnership requirements. The Habitat program is not a quick process, and requires a lot of commitment to complete.
Attending an Application Meeting is first step; attendance is mandatory in order to apply. Requirements (including financial), general criteria, and how the application process works are all gone over at that time. We are offering Application Meetings at different locations; you are only required to attend one meeting.
You do not need to bring anything with you to the Meeting, however, if you are applying with someone, both of you must be in attendance. The meeting typically takes about 45 minutes, and at the end you will receive the application, directions for how to complete it and where to turn it in. Application Meetings are open to the general public, therefore you may share this information with friends and family; you are not required to have received an invite in order to attend.
It is not recommended that you bring children so you are able to concentrate on the information being stated. There will not be bathroom access- please use the restroom prior, the meeting will last about 45minutes.
Questions- contact Emily at firstname.lastname@example.org at least 48hrs prior to the meeting.
