The 10th Annual African American Caregiving and Wellness Forum will be held Saturday, April 21, 2018 at the Ed Roberts Campus in Berkeley, CA. Rita Hargrave, MD, a geriatric psychiatrist with the VA Northern California Health Care System will be the key note speaker. She will provide the latest updates on Alzheimer’s disease.
Other topics include information on accessing Medi-Cal benefits to cover dementia care, understanding and responding to dementia behaviors from a caregiver’s perspective, mindfulness, and a question and answer session with a panel of experts.
The event begins at 8:30 a.m. with registration and an exhibitor fair and concludes at 2 p.m. This is a free event, open to the public. Complimentary health screenings and lunch will be provided. Respite care will also be available to attendees at no cost.
