In celebration of National Poetry Month, East Lansing Public Library presents four local poets to read from their work. Poetry books will be available at this time for purchase through Schuler Books.
Laura Apol has published several volumes of poetry nationally. She is a long time resident of East Lansing and an Associate Professor in the College of Education at Michigan State University.
Joyce Benvenuto has published two books of poetry about Grand River Ave. Formally a teacher for Haslett Public Schools, she is now retired and living in East Lansing.
Aram Kabodian, although retired, is still on teaching assignment at McDonald Middle School. A long time East Lansing resident, he has been a reader with this group for the past several years. He shares his ideas and poems on his blog.
Ruelaine Stokes is President of the Lansing Poetry Club that meets monthly on Sunday afternoons at Dublin Sq. Irish Pub in East Lansing. Stokes is a resident of Lansing, and has been a long time performance poet in our community.
