Using the mechanical cow, Dan guides the rider and horse through rates of speed and maneuvers geared to each rider’s level of ability and, over the course of the rides, offers more challenges as the day progresses.
By focusing on a common goal, you and your horse work as a team and improve your horsemanship and your horse’s ability to respond, all while playing with the cow.
The mechanical cow provides a format for fun and play to learn skills and is a great beginning or intermediate step for teaching you and your horse about cow work. You will develop your horse’s “cow” sense, teach your horse to use his or her hocks when working cattle, and help your horse better understand your aids while performing maneuvers. Your horse will learn to rate a cow, improve his or her style and form, and learn to synch with a cow as well as hold the ground while using his or her body correctly.
