Join us for a hike along the Loop Trail under the light of the second Blue Moon of 2018!
Along our journey we'll look and listen for signs of the creatures that inhabit the park at night (which now will include us!).
As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas. Unless there's a FULL MOON, which outshines even the brightest of stars (except the sun).
Bring: Flashlight (we will try not to use these unless necessary); walking shoes; dress for the weather.
Meet at the start of the Loop Trail, between Campsites 18 & 19.
The hike will start before sunset (7:53PM) and before moonrise (7:19PM).
Entrance fee for the park is $7/person (children 12 and under are free); no additional fee to attend this program. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. No need to register, just show up.
Note: This event is weather permitting; keep an eye on our Facebook page as the event approaches for cancellations or changes, especially if there is stormy or cloudy weather in the forecast.
*You will need to use the Self-pay Station if you are arriving after office hours. Self-pay is CASH or TSPP only.
