As part of International Dark Sky week, join us in taking a dark sky stroll along the loop trail!
Join a park ranger as we explore the Loop Trail under the light of the stars. Along our journey we’ll look and listen for signs of the creatures that inhabit the park at night (which now will include us!). Learn how dark skies and light pollution affect these critters and some easy things we can do to help them (and ourselves)!
As an International Dark Sky Park, Enchanted Rock boasts some of the darkest skies in this part of Texas, which means the stars at night ARE big and bright deep in the heart of Texas.
Entrance fee for the park is $7/person (children 12 and under are free); no additional fee to attend this program. Entry is free with a Texas State Parks Pass. No need to register, just show up.
Meet in the campground driving loop, between sites 18 & 19.
Bring: Flashlight (preferably with a red lens; we will try not to use these unless necessary); walking shoes; dress for the weather;
Note: This event is weather permitting; keep an eye on our Facebook page as the event approaches for cancellations or changes, especially if there is stormy or rainy weather in the forecast.
