Yin Yoga Hip Opening Meditation

With everyday life stress builds up and some of us are left feeling a little drained and maybe even a little sore and ache in the hips and the back. We often assume it’s from all the time on our feet and the constant up and down.
In yoga we use hip openers as a tension and stress relief because a lot of times pent up stress and emotions are held in the hips. This will often manifest itself into low back pain and tightness as well as pain in the hips. Stress and emotions do not serve our bodies or mind so we use hip openers to release all that pent-up stress.
Use this meditation to slow down before the workweek and to release unnecessary stress and emotions so you can go into the week with a more open and joyful heart!

This workshop will utilize blocks, bolsters, straps and blankets to help with stretching. Like a yin class we will hold some of the poses for a long period of time allowing time for the muscle to open. While we will be focusing primarily on the hips we may include some shoulder stretching as well as we tend to hold stress there as well. During this workshop I will guide you through a meditation that will allow you to focus and prepare your body, mind and heart for the everyday hustle and bustle!
This workshop can be modified to fit beginners and advanced.
