Dear Erasmus friends,

Here is an amazing opportunity to visit a lovely Walloon medieval city!!! (Which is almost impossible to access for those who don’t have a car ! )

Better-known as the “smallest city in the world” (counting only 400 inhabitants), Durbuy is situated in a verdant countryside’s region in the south of Belgium (province of Luxembourg). For history lovers, Durbuy is a beautiful representation of a typical medieval city (Durbuy acquired its city status in the XIVth century). For nature lovers, the region of the Famenne is offering a magnificent landscape (with a great anticline in the center of the city!). For food lovers, Durbuy presents a selection of various types of typical beers and chocolate!

Therefore, we will leave from Louvain-la-Neuve train station in the morning and arrive in Durbuy around 10-10.30. At that time, we would start a 2 hours gourmet visit in the center of the city. After that, you would have lunch and all the afternoon as free time. Nevertheless, you can enjoy a nice walk in the surroundings or even a descent by kayak (15€ but it’s definitely worth it !!!) to enjoy the beautiful verdant landscape this region is offering with us ! We also encourage you to taste some of the local specialties (beers, chocolate and so many more) and perhaps, if the weather allows us, to take advantage of the sun in terrace !

Let’s summarize :
