This two-part Gentle + Restorative Workshop series combines yoga postures, breath work, and meditation to relax the nervous system and and provide stress relief. Through the exploration of the practice, students will learn postures that fit their particular needs, such as alleviating low back pain, reducing tension, and promoting relaxation.
In these workshops, we wil discuss the benefits of combining gentle + restorative yoga practices use bolsters, blankets, and blocks to modify postures for increased relaxation combine breath work with yoga postures to encourage mental clarity and physical health
Part II will build on the concepts in practices learned in Part I. Students are welcome to select one workshop in any order or both for a more in-depth experience.

Marisa is a 500-RYT certified instructor and holds a Ph.D. in English from the University of South Florida. Her introduction to yoga began as a dancer, studying the Gyrokinesis Method to strengthen and develop her body through fluidity and breath work. She is also a certified Kriya meditation instructor.
Marisa's experience as a yoga teacher includes creating specialized instruction for Crossfit athletes, Jiu Jitsu practitioners, dancers, musicians, and pre-teen girls. She has taught in a wide-variety of settings including It's Just Yoga Festival, Creative Loafing's Veg Fest, Big Pre-fest in Little Ybor, and The Center for Girls as well as studio, corporate, and university environments. In addition to online yoga classes, she leads numerous workshops and offers private and group in-person sessions.
