In May 1787 a fleet of 11 ships set sail for Australia from Portsmouth. On board were 800 convicts and a similar number of sailors, gaolers, priests, doctors and administrators. Doug Newlyn explores the use of transportation as punishment and tells the stories of the convicts and their crimes. To book your space(s) email hannah.wilson@essex.pnn.police.uk.
