Please join us for UBC Okanagan’s first Alumni Days of Service and be a part of UBC alumni helping our community.
On Saturday, April 28th from 9:00am to noon, we will be participating in the Yellow Fish Road™ program, helping to spread the word that what goes in our storm drains goes into our beautiful lake. We’ll have an opportunity to get our hands dirty (just a little), breathe in the fresh spring air, have some fun, and spread that UBC goodwill around.
What is Yellow Fish Road™? The Yellow Fish Road™ program is a hands-on environmental project for people to help decrease water pollution in their communities. Yellow Fish Road™ volunteers paint yellow fish symbols next to storm drains and distribute fish-shaped brochures to nearby households and businesses, reminding people that anything that enters the storm drain systems goes directly into the local body of water.
We will be focusing on the Wintergreen neighbourhood in the Lower Mission of Kelowna. Free parking and participant check-in will be in the South West corner of Evangel Church parking lot.
This is the perfect project for alumni and families to do together! We will supply everything you need, including refreshments! Can’t wait to sign up?
