Dear friends and dancefloor revelers, this just in: we’re gearing up for an epic adventure and we want YOU to come with us! On Saturday April 28th, join Burnside for an interactive, funk-filled, people-powered kick-off to prepare for a musical voyage across the heartland of America.

This May we’re touring coast to coast, traversing our great if sometimes divided, always screen-enslaved nation. But y’all know as well as we do that what unites all humanity is a funky tune, putting down the damn phone to shake yer groove thang and of course… handwritten letters.

So before we rock your socks off at the Arlene Francis Center, we’ll be inviting attendees to hand-write anonymous letters that we’ll carry with us to each gig we play, truck stop tryst and hospitable home that takes us in. Everyone we meet along the way will be invited to take a letter, leave a letter, as we cross-pollinate strangers throughout more than a dozen states—red and blue, landlocked and coastal, rocky mountain and deep swampy south—with a good old-fashioned analogue epistolary exchange.

Doors open at 6pm with food, drinks and letter-writing. Special musical guests begin at 7pm. Burnside takes the stage a little after 8pm. $10 Admission at the door or online.

Sadly, we can’t fit everyone in our van. So we do hope you’ll at least join us on the road through words; meeting new people is the best part of traveling anyhow. And by June, when we return, expect a festive sequel to this here party where an eager reply to your own letter awaits…
