Did you know that every 107 seconds, another American is raped? 1 out of every 6 American women has been the victim of an attempted or completed rape in her lifetime. Victims of rape are 3 time more likely to suffer from depression, 6 times more likely to suffer from PTSD, 13 times more likely to abuse alcohol and 4 times more likely to contemplate suicide. And 98% of rapists will never spend a day in jail or prison.
The numbers are startling, but these aren’t just numbers. These are people. These are our family members, our friends, our colleagues, our acquaintances, the people we go to church with and those we see every day in our community. Please join us on April 25th to show your support.
