SheJumps is excited to offer an avalanche awareness evening for women and female-identifying people, taught by local backcountry skier and avalanche educator Lindsey Clark! This is a great opportunity to begin learning about avalanche terrain, or brush up on the basics before the next season of backcountry shredding.
Presentation topics will include identification of avalanche terrain, why and how avalanches happen, best practices for travel in avalanche terrain, local and regional resources to use throughout the season, and upcoming opportunities for more in-depth avalanche education in Oregon this season.
Your instructor is Lindsey Clark: an avid backcountry skier known for her enthusiasm, positive attitude, extensive knowledge of the Oregon Cascades, and commitment to empowering people through outdoor adventure.
Lindsey is a qualified AIARE instructor and teaches a variety of avalanche courses throughout Oregon. She has completed the AMGA Alpine Skills Course, and is currently enrolled in the AMGA Ski Guide Course this winter. She is on the national director team for SheJumps and operates Lindsey Clark Design, a product and graphic design studio focusing on the outdoor industry.
