''Children are great imitators, so give them something great to imitate!''
Family Yoga Class with Catherine Tong
Family yoga is a wonderful opportunity for parents and children to play and bond naturally and mindfully through movement, and spend healthy and happy quality time together.
In this one hour interactive class, families will discover the benefits and joy of practising yoga together. Focus will be on the children, with the encouragement of parents, guiding their children to learn and grow via simple yoga poses, games, songs and props, and simply grow stronger in body and mind together.
Children are innately curious beings and they constantly want to move; yoga allows for children to stretch their bodies and their minds, to enhance their co-ordination, focus, resilience, self-awareness, confidence and creative expression.
Exposing children to yoga plants the seed of taking care of their health and well-being from a young age, and encourages them to feel happy and confident in their own skin. When parents join in, they lead by example and model learning to their children.
Parents will learn or re-learn how to play from their children too, as they will be given the opportunity to embrace their inner child during this class. So expect to laugh, smile, move, breathe, relax and make shapes with your children in a fun and creative space.Yoga is always better together, so come and play, and spend some quality time together!
“We don’t stop playing because we grow old; we grow old because we stop playing” ~ George Bernard Shaw
