We are living in an age of polarity where many communities are feeling more and more divided. The consequent insecurities are evident in so many areas of modern life. Though there's digital hyperconnectivity, where we can be 'connected' 24/7, people feel more lonely and isolated than ever before. At the same time we are living against a backdrop of increasingly populist politics which rather than seeking to bridge these polarities, risk dividing us even further. But, as Jo Cox MP said in her maiden speech to Parliament, 'We are far more united than the things that divide us'.
This year TEDx Exeter have chosen making connections and building bridges as their theme.
We would love you to join us at CoLab Exeter to listen to the live streaming, participate in related discussions and create community.
