Yin Yoga & Yoga Nidra Workshop
Join Natalie for a two-hour yin yoga and yoga nidra (yogic sleep) workshop created to improve mobility, boost energy and effortlessly transform your life. We’ll practice conscious breathing, floor-based postures held for several minutes each, and deep conscious guided meditation. You’ll leave the workshop feeling relaxed, restored, nourished, and empowered.
Yin yoga uses held, floor-based postures to energise your body’s connective tissues – fascia, ligaments, tendons and joints – to increase flexibility, boost organ health and quiet the mind. While passive in the postures, yin’s journey inwards can challenge yogis as much as active styles of yoga (sometimes more so) as they sit with whatever comes up.
Yoga nidra, also known as yogic sleep, works with the energetic body to induce a state of deep rest. Although you’re awake, a profound stillness and calm takes over the body, and awareness turns inwards. In yoga, nidra is part of pratyahara – sense withdrawal. In psychology, the state we reach through yoga nidra is called hypnogogic, between sleep and wakefulness. Through yoga nidra, the conscious mind has permission to relax, to ‘stand down’ so that deeper layers of consciousness can help you to return to your ‘true nature’.
The workshop is suitable for students of all levels and mobility, with modifications and props used throughout for support.
NATALIE has taught yoga for several years, and practiced for over a decade. She completed her 200 hours at Hot Power Yoga, London, her pre/postnatal teacher training with YogaLondon, and her yoga nidra teaching qualification with Total Yoga Nidra under Nirlipta Tuli and Uma Dinsmore-Tuli.
Having recently moved back to Brisbane after 14 years in the UK, Natalie now teaches Vinyasa, Hot Flow, Vin-Yin, Yin, Pre/Postnatal and Yoga Nidra.
