How do you make a film about real people and properly tell their personal stories? In this day-long intensive workshop, filmmaker Anahita and media expert Yoni give participants the tools, skills, and ticks of the trade to tell powerful stories through documentary film. Note that there is a half day version of this workshop on Sunday, November 5.
About the instructor: Anahita received her BFA in film from Tehran University of Art and her MFA in studio arts from The School of the Art Institute of Chicago. She is the winner of the First Cinéfondation Award at Cannes Film Festival and her films have screened in numerous cinema and fine arts venues. In 2013, she was one of Filmmaker Magazine’s “25 New Faces of Independent Filmmaking” and one of IndieWire’s “20 Rising Female Filmmakers” in 2017. Anahita's feature debut THEY premiered in the official selection of Cannes Film Festival in 2017.
