Caregivers are family members and friends who care for someone to support their health and well-being, typically without pay. Caregivers are a diverse group, with diverse needs, desires and abilities.
You are invited to co-create a learning circle that provides education to rural and First Nations family caregivers. This free learning circle will also provide space and time for the necessary self- care and support that is often overlooked. This is a free pilot program that will serve as a guide for caregiver support group facilitators in British Columbia in providing a 6-week program offering both education and compassionate support for family caregivers.
This pilot program that will serve as a guide for caregiver support group facilitators in BC. You will help us to determine the pressing needs of family caregivers in in the Sea to Sky Community including Squamish Nation, Lil’Wat Nation.
We will hear your suggestions and recommendations to co-create a learning circle combining both practical education and tools to support the caregiving process, as well as skills and tools to support the caregiver. A facilitators package will outline the 6-week workshop and materials to be used.
