The Best of Keith James
A special concert celebrating 40 years of music to coincide with the release of his new album 'Anthem'.
Keith has proved to be one of this country’s most passionate, inventive and enduring concert performers. This concert is a collection of Keith’s own songs plus those by Nick Drake, Leonard Cohen, Joni Mitchell, John Martyn, Lorca, Dylan Thomas and Pablo Neruda.
Hear many of his songs as they were first written, along with many stories, anecdotes, secrets and disasters: kidnapped in Paris, brought back to life in Hospital, singing with Seal in Greenwich Village, a strange marriage in Brazil, on tour with Hot Chocolate and spending 15 minutes in prison – there is an audience Q & A.
In the 70s Keith was a Wine Bar Singer, during the 80s-90s, a record producer. He has worked with Paul Young, The Webb Sisters, Gallager and Lyle, Peter Sarstedt, Labi Sifre, Van Morrison, The Dankworths, Jon Bowden, John Williams, Nancy Kerr, John Etheridge, Juan Martin, George Melly and many more.
Keith has performed over 2000 concerts in the UK and across Europe and has released 14 CD Albums.
His concerts are always engaging and deeply passionate and are more recently based on his study of poets and writers, whose verse he has set into dramatic and absorbing songs.
