Dr. Kyle is an Oberman fellow at the University of Iowa and associate professor of Humanities and director of the Master of Arts in Liberal Studies program at the University of Central Oklahoma. She is the author of Medicine and Humanism in Late Medieval Italy: the Carrara Herbal in Padua (Routledge, 2017). Kyle's work focuses on illustrated botanical manuscripts (herbals) as sites of convergence for Pan-Mediterranean medical and artistic traditions and humanist enterprises, particularly in the courts of northern Italy and in Venice during the fourteenth and fifteenth centuries.
