Tips, tricks, bowings, and stylings for getting the best sound out of your instrument. Irish and American fiddling flavors. Come join Katie for a fun afternoon of music and learning! All levels welcome!
Katie Jane is a dynamic teacher in the Pacific Northwest music community. Her energetic teaching style gets her students excited about making music while learning the fundamentals of technique and theory which are imperative to becoming a great instrumentalist. With her extensive classical training and passion for Irish fiddling, Katie is able to blend classical technique with the fun rhythms and melodies of Irish music. When she is not touring the country with her band Castletown, Katie teaches a full studio of all age students and she hosts an Irish session, an Irish fiddle group class (taught all by ear!), and a beginning-intermediate adult ensemble in her hometown of Portland, Oregon.
