Galilean Caverns and Woodlands: Hiking and Caving in the Galilee

Get Directions

#var:page_name# cover

Springtime in the Upper Galilee means lush, Mediterranean woodland forests and deep caverns to shelter us from the seasonal heat! Join us for a day up north close to Israel’s border with Lebanon where we will explore some of the area’s special geological scenes underground, surrounded by the classic features of northern Israel.

We will hike through Wadi Betzet, Sarach and Namer as we stop along the way to explore some of the local, underground caverns that define the local terrain. Part of the day will be dedicated to understanding how Israel’s northern border in the Western Galilee was formed with Lebanon while we wend our way through shaded forests that will eventually present us with some beautiful views across the north.

The hike is an intermediate level hike and going into the caves is NOT required. For those with claustrophobia, you are welcome to remain outside the caves. This is a full day of caving and light spelunking!
