The postpartum period can be one of the most challenging times in our lives.
In our culture, the postpartum period is often ignored. Moms feel huge expectations to keep up with all the things they did before baby. The reality is that many days it can feel like it takes superhuman effort just to feed, change and care for the baby - let alone the cooking, laundry, cleaning, household tasks and any other responsibilities she might have. Abandoning mothers to face this alone is so hard on moms and families. Having community support to navigate through this complicated time can help moms to land more gently into this transition of motherhood.
Because so many of us don't have that community to lean on, we believe it's important to have many safe non-judgmental spaces where moms can come and talk about the challenges of postpartum in a real way.
In collaboration with Amanda Brindley from Fitbump SK, this free postpartum support group will run on the second Thursday of every month. This is a safe space where you can connect with women who are experiencing similar struggles and talk about the triumphs and the frustrations. Open to all moms in any stage of postpartum!
