Artist Keith Gum will discuss and demonstrate the art of Linocut printmaking at the Florida Artists Gallery at 7 p.m. on Saturday, April 21. Linocut is a technique similar to the ancient art of wood block printing, except it is done with modern linoleum. The use of woodcuts, which are the historical basis for moveable type, dates back to second century China.

In addition to his talk and demonstration, Gum will provide materials and tools for audience members to try their own hand at the art, then create a collective printed mosaic on handmade paper.

The Florida Artists Gallery is located in the Historic Knight House at 8219 Orange Avenue in Floral City. A $10.00 donation is requested and refreshments will be provided. To reserve seats, or for more information, call 352-244-9300.

The Gallery is open Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and by appointment. Visit us on the web at www.flartistsgallery.com.
