Would you like to eat less meat, or have you considered eliminating it all together? Getting enough protein is the biggest concern for those on a vegan diet. A plant-based diet CAN provide enough protein, even if you are very active! In this workshop, we will discuss why protein is important, the different types of protein, what foods contain it, and other nutrients you need to consider if you don't eat meat. The recipes we will make are a departure from the standard beans, rice, and lentils.
We'll make Vegan Protein Powder (which you'll take home) and blend it into Smoothies, Carrot Slaw with Smoky Maple Tempeh, and Protein-Packed Vegan Cheese Sauce over seasonal veggies.
All recipes are vegan and gluten-free.
