On April 15, Andre K. O. Grey & Jordan B. Botello—in partnership with The Project Waxahachie—will be hosting a community dialogue entitled “Race & The Church.” This event will feature a moment of reflection with performing artist Jimmy Needham, a keynote address from acclaimed sociologist & expert on racial issues Dr. George Yancey (University of North Texas), followed by a panel comprised of university students, academics, pastors, and Dr. Yancey. Members of the DFW metroplex of all demographic backgrounds are invited to attend, as there will be an open mic Q & A session following the keynote address.

The purpose of this event is to foster healthy and honest dialogue about the highly contentious nature of racial issues within the American Church. Both racial and intellectual diversity are anticipated at this event; for we are committed to the exchange of ideas in the public arena, with the hope that truth and understanding will prevail. Further, our hope is that this dialogue will promote action & community engagement by all in attendance.
