Join Chef Norman Davis for his fun treats class where he will teach you all of the secrets to making cake pops and other small treats.
We so hate to make CakePop’s, Learn the right way to do them! Who said they had to be round or even on a stick?
Learn how to use the Easy Roller and do them by hand, we will also be making square CakePop’s.
In this class we will be using cake/premade cakes/rice treats/cookies to make small Treats!
Students will learn:
- Perfectly Painted - See how using edible paints can elevate your Treats.
- Fun with Fondant - Add dimension to your treats with innovative fondant designs.
- Trendy Transfers Sheets - Learn how chocolate transfers can add extra dimension to your sweet treats.
- SugarVeil - Learn how to use SugarVeil and use it in many ways.
- The Art of Candy - Learn how to get creative with pre made candies.
- Premade Items! - See how using premade Petits Fours, cookies and rice treats can make your life easier!
All supplies for the class will be provided for in-class use. Class is available to students 16+ years old. Class requires a minimum of 4 students and maximum of 10 students. In the event of insufficient enrollment, the full class fee will be refunded or you may transfer to another class.
Chef Norman and Chef Zane are co owners of Norm & Zane The Sweet Life LLC., a custom cakery in Annandale, Virginia. They are an award-winning Chocolatier, Pastry Chefs and they are famous for their White Chocolate Curl Cake, three-dimensional chocolate figurines, painting on cakes, high heel shoes, and jewelry all in sugar. This is just to name a few of their sugar tenants. They are working with some major cake companies such as Sweet Art, Galleries/Choco-Pan™, Lucks™, The Sugar Art™, The Swiss Colony™, and ClearViewMolds™ in developing tools along with edible products.
They have demonstrated and taught at the Smithsonian in Washington DC, ICES Conventions all over the USA, Stratford College School of Culinary Arts, Canada, Dubai, Africa and many other events in the cake world. They are often featured on many TV shows: Historic Tours and Recipes, Fox 5 News, Good Morning Washington, Channel 10 news, A & E TV, Dubai TV, they have competed on the Food Network Challenges, TLC/Discovery Unlimited Cake Off, The Cooking Channel CakeHunters, CMT network, and A & E TV. They also have been seen on CNN, Oprah Show, Talk Soup, and Four Weddings.
Some of the cakes they have designed were for: President Clinton, the Washington Post, Rosie O'Donnell, T. Boone Pickens, Patti Labelle, and Monte Durham with Say Yes to the Dress: Atlanta. This is just few of their high profile customers. They have been featured in many publications such as: Cakes & Sugarcraft, Cake Craft & Decoration, Food Art, The Washington Post, Washingtonian, Pastry Art & Design Magazine, Edible Artists Network, People Magazine (A Cake From Every State where their cake was chosen to represent VA), and American Cake Decorating Magazine.
