Join Friends of the Dunes in a smartphone-powered BioBlitz, followed by some restoration! A BioBlitz is an intensive one-day study of biodiversity in a specific location; in this case participants will collect citizen science data using the iNaturalist app. After learning about biodiversity in the dunes, participants are encouraged to stick around and help remove the invasive plants that threaten this biodiversity.

People of all ages and skill levels are welcome! Bring your work gloves, a fully charged smart phone with the iNaturalist app already downloaded, and tons of enthusiasm. We’ll rally some folks who know the area. Together we’ll do some citizen science and restoration!

Please meet at the Humboldt Coastal Nature Center, 220 Stamps Lane in Manila. For more information call 444-1397 or email info@friendsofthedunes.org. To learn more about BioBlitz's, visit the iNaturalist website.
