It's getting down to the wire! Legislation to tax big businesses like Amazon to fund housing, shelter and services is in the works. A public hearing will held on Monday, April 23rd, and the projected date for a final council vote is May 14th.
Big business groups like the Chamber of Commerce are pulling out all the stops, fighting this hard. They'd like to see this measure killed or seriously watered down. Our support and pressure will be critical to getting strong legislation passed!
Come to this action meeting hosted by the Transit Riders Union to learn more about the campaign and get involved. We'll be in the community room at the Frye in Pioneer Square, near King County Courthouse.
