Tuesdays and Thursdays, 6-10 pm
This course is designed as the entry-level
course for the Emergency Medical Responder/
Defibrillator certified. The objective of this course
is to teach uniform assessment, management,
stabilizing skills for injured or ill patients by using
Basic Medical and Trauma Life Support skills.
Emphasis is placed on recognizing critical
situations that cannot be managed definitively
in the prehospital setting.

This course follows the most current National
Emergency Medical Responder/Defibrillation
DOT curriculum and is approved by the Illinois
Department of Public Health.
- 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- 20/20 vision with correction
- Normal hearing with correction
- Sound physique, not possessing any
infirmity of body or mind, that might
render you unfit to perform duties

Registration and cancellation information
The registration fee includes the cost of:
- Course textbook
- IDPH fees
- All course material
Cancellations received up to 7 days before the
course starts will receive a full refund only if
all textbooks and precourse supplies have been
returned unused. Cancellations not in that time
period will be prorated on course completed and
cost of student materials.
No refunds after class starts.
