The goal of Science Saturday is to give the community the opportunity to visit and discover the type of research facilities we have in our city, expose them to local researchers/scientist, and participate in various learning activities

This free, family-friedly event will feature lab tours, hand-on activities, demo's, guest lectures, music and food!

The event is organized by the The Society for Advancement of Chicanos/Hispanics and Native Americans in Science (SACNAS) Chapters at Texas A&M University- Corpus Christi and Del Mar College. SACNAS has the goal of increasing diversity and fostering the success of minorities in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics. We encourage our students to attain advanced degrees, careers, and positions of leadership in STEM. At the same time, we promote that our members maintain and embrace their culture throughout their careers to build a more inclusive and diverse STEM workforce. Part of what we do is reach out to the community, participate in science education and mentorship, to encourage kids in our community to take interest in STEM and expose them to diverse scientist.
