This year's topic is Dialogues and follows our school's year long intent to explore the “hundred languages of children” as a way to make connection and strengthen community. We will focus on learning dialogues among children, dialogues with materials, and dialogues among staff as reflective practice. We will share our children's project work in a tour of Garden Gate Child Development Center and then in a children’s art exhibit featuring the work of the children at Garden Gate in collaboration with the K-12 Martha’s Vineyard Public Charter School which will be viewed by our retreat participants at Featherstone Center for the Arts. We will tour Featherstone's studio spaces and then have time for reflective dialogue in one of the lovely classroom spaces on the beautiful Featherstone campus. For those planning to view the Wonder of Learning exhibit in Boston we will offer time for conversation and reflections related to the exhibit.
