Local businesses in Gardiner are showing their support for the Gardiner Library with special offers during National Library Week. Gardiner patrons who show their library card at these businesses during the period of April 8 through April 14 will receive: 10% off the entire bill at Café Mio, $5 off one regularly priced item at The Green Room, a free dog toy tennis ball at the Natural Pet Center, a goodie bag and coupon from Pooch Dog Spa, 20% off one regularly priced item at Uptown Attic, a free cookie or cup of coffee at the Village Market and Eatery, 20% off one regularly priced item at White Barn Sheep and Wool, and 10% off the entire bill at both Yard Owl Brewery and Mudd Puddle Coffee Roasters. “National Library Week is a time to reflect on what libraries mean to you and your community,” says library director Nicole Lane. “For me personally, the Gardiner Library has been a catalyst for building connections as well as meeting so many amazing people. Both of those are clearly illustrated by the enthusiastic support the library gets from our local businesses each year. ”
In addition, the library will also be running a “Food for Fines” campaign during that week. Patrons may bring in up to three non-perishable food items and the library will remove $1 off overdue fines for each item. The library will also accept donations of food from patrons who don’t owe any fines. Food items will be donated to Family of New Paltz.
