On the evening of Friday, May 18th from 7:30 pm - 9:30 pm, the Gates Public Library and Writers & Books will host an evening of food, an assortment of beer tasting provided by Beers of the World, and silent auction prizes. Nationally recognized author Tim Wendel will also speak to attendees about his newest non-fiction book, "Cancer Crossings: A Brother, His Doctors, and the Quest for a Cure to Childhood Leukemia," and writing in general.
"Cancer Crossings" is a deeply personal book about the doctors whose research at Roswell Park in Buffalo, New York changed the survival rate for childhood leukemia from 10 percent in 1966 to 90 percent, what it is today.
Tickets are on sale online at gateslibrary.org, and will be mailed to you. Tickets are also available at the checkout desk of the Gates Public Library. One ticket is $25.00. Two tickets are $40.00.
