The School District of Palm Beach County has an opportunity for those interested in becoming a teacher in one of its 12 Glades-area schools. During the GladesFest Teacher job fair, applicants will be hired on the spot to be in the classroom after the holidays, or obtain a contract to begin work at the start of the next school year.
GladesFest will be held Friday, December 15 in the Glades Region Office at 2625 NW 16th Street, Belle Glade. Sign-in from 7:30 to 8:30 a.m., Welcome/Orientation from 9 to 9:45 a.m., meet with school representatives from 9 to 9:45 a.m., Interviews from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The district offers an annual $3,750 supplement to teachers at schools in the Glades, as well as professional development, leadership and career advancement and additional jobs to supplement income.
Approximately 12 teachers are needed in a variety of subject areas, including Elementary Education, Reading K-12, Mathematics 6-12, English 6-12, English for Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL)/Bilingual K-12, Autism Endorsement, Exceptional Student Education (ESE) K-12, Social Science 6-12 and Speech Language Pathologists.
