What’s it all about?

Get School’d is going green for the month of April to coincide with our annual landscape design exhibition Grow Op from April 18-22!

In Sprouting for Beginners, you’ll learn how to grow your own sprouts and be your own urban farmer! Learn to harness the power of these young Superfoods in your own home controlling every step of the growing process from seed to table. Reduce your carbon footprint, shave dollars off of that grocery bill and ramp up the nutritional value of each meal for you and your family.

Learn how to transform the inert energy of a seed in a diverse array of seed varietals from alfalfa and small seed spring mixes to larger beans, wheatgrass and sunflower seeds.

You will be provided with a basic starter kit complete with seeds, basic tools and take home step-by-step instructions so that you can begin sprouting on the same day that you take the class!

What should you bring?

Workshop materials will be provided for you. If you would like to take notes, please bring your own pen and notebook!

Who’s teaching?

Hi! My name is Abbey Pepall! Like many of you, I’ve spent a great deal of time trying to make the right health choices for my life: maintaining a balanced diet, dealing with a compromised immune system, colds, flu, allergies and just feeling run-down or “under the weather.”

Many years ago, after spending a great deal of time researching various remedies, I stumbled upon an ad for a sprout class taught by the founder of Toronto Sprouts and it quite literally changed my life. I started to grow my own organic and nutritious food right in my own apartment in downtown Toronto! I found myself completely taken by the transformative power of these little super foods to support and heal the body. Most importantly, as the weeks and months went by, I suffered from fewer and less sustaining colds and allergic flare-ups. Today, I find myself feeling stronger and healthier, and better able to balance both my diet and my budget. I look forward to being able to share and empower others with the concept of sustainable nutrition in your own home.
