Shadow Girls is a theatrical production scored entirely with overhead projector art. Presented in an intimate twenty-seat room in the Gladstone, Shadow Girls envelops audience members in transformative, otherworldly images as it details the relationship of Maggie and Amelia: two women whose attempts at an intimate relationship are complicated by a fraught mutual history involving years of separation following an adolescent hook-up-and-break-up. Projectionists manipulate the 360 degree projections in real time, in front of the audience, alongside the performance-- the result is experiential. Saturated with rich imagery and intimate moments, Shadow Girls is a sensuous presentation of a queer love story.
