Worship Services on Reformation Brass Sunday follow a traditional worship format and feature music by Reformation Brass.
Reformation Brass is a brass, organ and timpani ensemble of WELS and ELS members from the Twin Cities area, formally organized in 2000 with the guidance of Elaine Stindt (Redeemer – Maple Grove). We perform at member churches and local WELS/ELS ceremonies and activities.
When at full strength, the group consists of five trumpets, two French Horns, three trombones, a baritone, tuba, organ and timpani. While the group receives door offerings at most of their performances, all musicians are uncompensated volunteers. Door offerings and other donations go toward the purchase of needed instruments and music, and meeting the limited operating expenses of the organization.
The group is dedicated to providing enhancement to worship in congregations of the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod and Evangelical Lutheran Synod located in the Twin Cities Metropolitan Area, to supporting Brass musicianship in worship, and to promoting instrumental musicianship among our area congregations, Lutheran Elementary Schools and Lutheran High Schools.
