There will be some FREE PLANTS! House plants, edible plants, and native plants for your yard or community garden :)
So excited to have folks from Tidewater Ecology Collective and Virginia Beach Master Gardener Michelli Booker speaking at this workshop! Free information, free discussion, & free plants for all!
This event is part of a workshop series hosted by the Sierra Club Virginia Chapter in partnership with Detox Dandy at a beautiful and soothing center near the oceanfront called Good Vibes Wellness.
The series aims to make clear the connections between our health and the health of the environment. Toxins that affect out health daily are largely due to polluted or failing ecosystems, but we have the power to reverse damage and sustain the healthy relationship we have with our earth!
One of the most critical ways that we can act to mitigate pollution and the impacts of climate change is through understanding what is happening with our soil and our local ecosystems! This workshop will address the following:
- the significance of native plants
- edible and medicinal native plants for your self-care routine
- how plants can help us clean our soil
-the role of plants in mitigating flooding and carbon pollution
-resources to get involved with community gardens or create beneficial gardens at your own home
We will have speakers who are involved with local community gardens to explain the significance and the process of utilizing plants to care for ourselves and our environment.
