The Goose Hummock is hosting our Kids’ Freshwater Fishing Derby. The tournament has been going on every April school vacation for more than three decades. We now have past winners bringing in their boys and girls to enter. The love for the sport and the memories that were instilled in them 30 years ago are now being passed down, generation to generation.
Kids can start weighing in fish beginning 9 a.m. Saturday morning, April 14th. They have until 5 p.m. on Friday, April 20th to bring any fish they catch in the designated categories (see below) to be entered. There is no charge for entering and each child will get a free gift bag when they weigh in their first catch. Each child can log as many fish as they wish but all fish must abide by all Massachusetts regulations. WEIGH-INS END AT 5PM EACH DAY. Anglers can either be registered when they weigh in their first fish or you can download, print and fill out the entry form and drop it by the Goose anytime.
On Sunday, April 22nd at 1 p.m., the winners will be announced and presented with trophies and awards in each category at our Awards Celebration right here at the Goose Hummock.
