Octopus for a Preemie are a group of people who crochet octopuses and jellyfish for premature babies. These soft comforters have spiralled tentacles which have a similar feel to an umbilical cord, and comfort babies while in the NICU. The local group creates and donates octopuses and jellyfish to the Canberra Hospital, which cares for premature babies in the Goulburn region. At this working bee you can see what's involved in crocheting the comforters, get started in helping to make them, and find out more about how to be part of this initiative.
This is for an Octopus workshop/meeting in Goulburn library from 10-12noon, followed by the Roses Cafe party room in Montague Street (opposite Belmore Park) for lunch/snack/coffee until 2.30pm.
This event is organised by Bev for the Octopus for a Preemie - NSW and ACT group. Join their online Facebook group here: https://www.facebook.com/groups/758670607635412/
