Wildflower Walk

Come with us in search of Texas wildflowers and other native plants. Moderate intensity hike; must be able to walk over rocky, uneven ground.

Who is Invited:
Open to ages 8 and up; minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. No pets please.

When & Where to Meet:
Arrive by 8:45. Meet at the rainwater tower next to the Visitor’s Center. Plan ahead, as the Natural Area often experiences heavy visitation and wait time at the fee booth.

What to Wear & Bring:
Dress appropriately for the weather; wear sturdy footwear, sunscreen and hats are recommended.
Bring plenty of water; 1 liter per person recommended; and a snack if desired.

Group size is limited to 10. No pets please. Minors must be accompanied by a legal guardian. Participants must be able to walk over rocky, uneven ground. Sorry, no picking of flowers allowed, but photography is welcome!
To reduce human impact on the Natural Area, please follow the Leave No Trace principles of outdoor ethics.

Registration & Fees:
Registration required for EACH participant. Sorry, no group registrations. Natural Area entry fees apply; stop at the Entrance Fee Booth to self-pay/register.

Programs are subject to cancelation. On inclement mornings, check trail conditions by calling GCSNA’s main office at 210-688-9055 after 7:30AM, or by going to the GCSNA twitter feed or the Friends of Government Canyon Facebook page .
